SNDB PLC has once again been recognised as Sri Lanka’s Best Retail Bank for the 16th time at the TAB Global Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2026. The ceremony was held in Shanghai, China, recognizing financial institutions for excellence in retail banking and innovation.

Today, SNDB serves over 2 million retail customers, with nearly 80% of them digitally active, reflecting strong adoption of the Bank’s digital banking platforms and high-fidelity institutional standards.

The award was received by Chammika Weerasinghe, Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Business, alongside the SNDB team. The bank also maintained its market leadership in leasing, retaining the largest share in the industry nationwide.

Innovation continues at SNDB with the introduction of Sri Lanka’s first World Elite Metal Mastercard and SNDB Accept (Tap-to-Phone), enabling merchants to accept contactless payments via smartphones securely.
